Replace Aesthetically Unpleasing Crowns
Though extremely strong and durable, dental crowns will eventually break down, and will need replacing. Visible crowns that have begun to deteriorate are not only uncomfortable but visually distracting, and can severely detract from an otherwise picture-perfect smile. Dr. Ziv can replace your old crowns with new porcelain crowns that perfectly match the shade of your existing teeth.
Replace Missing Teeth
If you have lost one or more teeth, it is important that you seek treatment as soon as possible. Missing teeth not only cause immediate oral health problems, but teeth adjacent to a gap will start to drift out of position as there is nothing there to hold them in place. The bone will start to deteriorate slowly as well.
Fortunately, there are several cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry options available for the replacement of missing teeth. The simplest option is usually a dental bridge. A bridge is made up of one or more artificial teeth that are held in place by crowns attached to the adjacent teeth. Bridges are often an excellent, but temporary, option. For a more durable solution, dental implants may be your best option, as they replicate the entire structure of a missing tooth, from root to crown. If cared for properly, implants can last for decades and possibly your entire life.

If that doesn't have the desired effect, Dr. Ziv may recommend dental bonding or porcelain veneers to completely cover the front surfaces of the teeth.

Dental Bonding and Porcelain Veneers are extremely useful and versatile procedures that Dr. Ziv is proud to offer to his patients. Dental bonding is a cosmetic dentistry procedure that allows Dr. Ziv to quickly and effectively cover stains, re-shape teeth, and fill gaps between teeth. Using a composite resin material that is “painted” on and dried to an ultra-hard consistency, Dr. Ziv will essentially sculpt a new shape for your tooth. And since the resin comes in a variety of shades and colors, he can match your bonding to the exact color that you want your teeth to be. If your teeth are particularly misshapen or misaligned, however, porcelain veneers may be a superior option to achieve an instant orthodontic result in just two visits.

Replace Dark Metal Fillings
For years, when people thought of dental fillings, they would envision either silver or gold fillings, dark metal that stood out against the backdrop of white teeth. With the cosmetic dentistry technology available at our Agoura Hills office, however, those days are over. Not only are metal fillings a thing of the past, but so are the drills that made room for them! Dr. Ziv uses a high-pressure stream of air with tiny particles to clean out your cavity, removing less of the healthy tooth than with a traditional drill. The composite resin used to fill the cavity is also much more effective at sealing the tooth and preventing it from further decay than the metal used in older fillings.
